What’s the point? A question I asked myself often during my recovery. There were many days when I felt like giving up, that the world would be better off without me that I would never get better.
These thoughts were easy to believe when my mind was shouting things at me like “You’re useless, worthless, unwanted.” SO....I created a “What’s the point?” list and listed reasons why I needed to keep fighting. When I had negative thoughts and when I asked myself “what’s the point?” I would whip out that list.
It included things like:
-I am loved!
-people want me here
-making new friends.
All simple things, yet such important things to remember when I felt that ending my life was the best option.
I challenge you to create a “What’s the point?” list. List all the reasons WHY you need to keep fighting and WHAT you’re fighting for. Keep it handy. On your phone. In your journal. Use this tool when you’re feeling like there is no point.
